The Park Map can be found here: Park Map.  We were free camping near the upper right-hand corner of  the park map.

We travelled a short distance south from Corindi Beach to Moonee Beach. Moonee Beach is a small community (not as small as Corindi Beach)  situated about 20 minutes north of Coffs Harbour by car.

There is a small shopping centre and tavern in the town that provides day to day supplies.

The video below provides a view of the park and its surrounds.

We had camped at Moonee Beach 18 months ago, before we acquired our caravan. We used our 40 year old Primus Tent for the first time in over 25 years! This was the catalyst that led to our acquisition of a small caravan. We wanted to visit Moonee again, this time free camping in our caravan.

The caravan park is on a rise that overlooks Moonee Creek and Sugar Mill Creek, with a view to the ocean just north of Green Bluff.

The centre of the park is a conventional caravan park with concrete slab sites laid out in a grid. This central grid has cabins on the eastern and south sides. The southern and northern ends of the park provide unpowered free camping.

The park has many trees and when free camping you can choose a site with the amount of sun / shade you prefer. We placed our caravan on a small near level grass platform near the top of the rise at the northern end of the park. We had great views, a degree of shade throughout the day and a cooling sea breeze.

There was an open area near our caravan that was unoccupied. We placed our solar cells here each morning and by lunch time, our caravan battery was fully charged.

We found the powered sites in the centre of the park to be significantly hotter than the surrounding free camping areas. I believe this was mainly due to the breeze not penetrating the grid layout effectively. If you stay at Moonee Beach on a powered site, we recommend seeking one of the powered sites above the tennis court on the northern side of the park. These sites have the view and breeze we enjoyed, with the benefit of power and a water connections.

Kayaks can be hired at the caravan office. My wife enjoyed floating on the current in Moonee Creek, to or from the ocean depending on the tide.

There is a wooden walking bridge across Sugar Mill Creek and a walking track that leads to Green Bluff and down to the surf beach to the south of Moonee Beach.

There is a strip of park land between the caravan park and the creeks that provide picnic tables under trees and on good grass. An ideal place for a family picnic.

Exceptional!

The park amenities are well maintained.

We really enjoyed our stay and would visit again if travelling in this area.
