Mapleton Cabins and Caravan Park
Visited in July 2020 - Independent Review - No Sponsorship or Affiliation
- It is not too far from home
- Access involves a steep climb from Nambour to Mapleton - This allowed us to evaluate our ability to tow the van over a mountain range using our 3 litre sedan tow vehicle
The new caravan towed behind the car very well; on the highway, climbing the range and descending after our stay.
The Mapleton caravan park is heavily wooded. The sites are spacious and mostly separated from each other by gardens. The facilities are old but clean and serviceable.
We stayed for three nights. There is plenty to see in the area around Mapleton. You can explore the Blackall range from Mapleton to Maleny. There are numerous national parks and vantage points with views east to the Sunshine Coast. We also visited Kenilworth and Coolum while staying here.
We can recommend this caravan park to any wanting to visit the Blackall range and have a mountain home base rather than the more frequently visited Sunshine Coast beaches.
The sites are green, private and would be quite cool in summer (we visited during winter).
