We Are Replacing Our Jaguar S Type With A Discovery Sport

Yesterday we purchased a new vehicle to tow our Adria caravan. A 2018 Land Rover Discovery Sport. 

We decided to buy a new tow vehicle after our first long caravan trip from Brisbane to Charters Towers and back. During this trip we frequently found that there were places we wanted to visit on day trips from our camp site that were not accessible using our 2002 Jaguar S Type. It was just too low to the ground for safe passage. At this stage, we have no plans to tow the caravan "off-road".

The S Type had no trouble towing the Adria caravan. It felt secure and stable on the road, including when passing road trains with a speed differential of around 200kph. (opposite directions).

When I drove the new car home yesterday, I was following my wife who was driving the S Type. I felt sad that we would soon be selling this wonderful car that has served us well for 10 years. It still looks pretty on the road; and despite its age, is a smoother car to drive than the Land Rover.
